Reflection
The Minnewaska Induction Mentor Program that I developed and brought to life in the district has a lot to do with human resource management. While the program is not evaluative, it's mission is develop staff to improve performance and retain personnel. In the end, it also acts as a bonus when recruiting new teachers because we have a program that will support them and help them be successful in our community and in the classroom. I also gained experience recruiting and hiring teachers for our mentor positions. As I created this program, I had to work closely with building administrators and the union president. I had to understand labor relations and collective bargaining as an MOU was developed to add the mentor contract with a stipend into our teacher union's contract.
